Welcome to the r(e)volution...
Surprisingly nice tune, I thought I don't like David Bowie.....Dirty old river, must you keep rollingFlowing into the nightPeople so busy, makes me feel dizzyTaxi light shines so brightBut I don't need no friendsAs long as I gaze on Waterloo sunsetI am in paradiseEvery day I look at the world from my windowChilly, chilly is the evening timeWaterloo sunset's fineTerry meets Julie at Waterloo StationEvery Friday nightBut I am so lazy, don't want to wanderI stay at home at nightBut I don't feel afraidAs long as I gaze on Waterloo sunsetI am in paradiseEvery day I look at the world from my windowChilly, chilly is the evening timeWaterloo sunset's fineMillions of people swarming like flies 'round Waterloo undergroundBut Terry and Julie cross over the riverWhere they feel safe and soundAnd they don't need no friendsAs long as they gaze on Waterloo sunsetThey are in paradiseWaterloo sunset's fine (Waterloo sunset's fine)Waterloo sunset's fine (Waterloo sunset's fine)Waterloo sunset's fine (Waterloo sunset's fine)Waterloo sunset's fine
Bowie's IMO one of the most incredible artists the world has seen - his "outlandish" image styles and music may not be for everyone, but it cannot be denied that a strong sense of genius and mastery can be found in his work...IMO. :)
I must confess, I don't really know much of him. Well, I am eager now to make acquaintance with his music including the lyrics, it seems to be worth. Maybe I'll change my mind... I'll let you know, if you are interested? :)
Okay…., if there is anyone interested in my better researched opinion/impression, please continue reading ;)IMO David Bowie is very open minded, open to influences, experiments a lot, recovers himself in many different ways. He also affects/impresses lots of people around the globe. He had many co-working sessions with other artists, is very unpredictable, is extraordinarily alterable (wandelbar), to put it in a nutshell… a colorful personality. I would say, he is a bird of paradise among the artists.I finally found out, I need to correct my previous statement "I thought, I don't like David Bowie" and turn it into "I respect his person(ality) and his lifework, I like some of his songs."To be honest, I am still rummaging in his treasure trove ;)Thanks a lot, I need such little hints to chew something over from time to time. ;)
