Surprisingly nice tune, I thought I don't like David Bowie.....
Dirty old river, must you keep rolling Flowing into the night People so busy, makes me feel dizzy Taxi light shines so bright But I don't need no friends As long as I gaze on Waterloo sunset I am in paradise
Every day I look at the world from my window Chilly, chilly is the evening time Waterloo sunset's fine
Terry meets Julie at Waterloo Station Every Friday night But I am so lazy, don't want to wander I stay at home at night But I don't feel afraid As long as I gaze on Waterloo sunset I am in paradise
Every day I look at the world from my window Chilly, chilly is the evening time Waterloo sunset's fine
Millions of people swarming like flies 'round Waterloo underground But Terry and Julie cross over the river Where they feel safe and sound And they don't need no friends As long as they gaze on Waterloo sunset They are in paradise
Waterloo sunset's fine (Waterloo sunset's fine) Waterloo sunset's fine (Waterloo sunset's fine) Waterloo sunset's fine (Waterloo sunset's fine) Waterloo sunset's fine
Bowie's IMO one of the most incredible artists the world has seen - his "outlandish" image styles and music may not be for everyone, but it cannot be denied that a strong sense of genius and mastery can be found in his work...IMO. :)
I must confess, I don't really know much of him. Well, I am eager now to make acquaintance with his music including the lyrics, it seems to be worth. Maybe I'll change my mind... I'll let you know, if you are interested? :)
Okay…., if there is anyone interested in my better researched opinion/impression, please continue reading ;)
IMO David Bowie is very open minded, open to influences, experiments a lot, recovers himself in many different ways. He also affects/impresses lots of people around the globe. He had many co-working sessions with other artists, is very unpredictable, is extraordinarily alterable (wandelbar), to put it in a nutshell… a colorful personality. I would say, he is a bird of paradise among the artists.
I finally found out, I need to correct my previous statement "I thought, I don't like David Bowie" and turn it into "I respect his person(ality) and his lifework, I like some of his songs." To be honest, I am still rummaging in his treasure trove ;)
Thanks a lot, I need such little hints to chew something over from time to time. ;)
