Blogwork: Pictures From Austria

I've just arrived back home from a pleasant stay in Austria. The city I visited, Zwettl, is known for its forests and farmland. It's a nice place for long walks because there aren't many other things to do. ;) I decided to take a few pictures for you. During my walk, I spent some time in the vicinity of the local monastary called the "Stift Zwettl". There are many interesting things to experience at this monastery, including guided tours, herb gardens and a shop featuring local specialties. Many of the local food specialties are made with poppy seed. Have a look at the pictures and try to answer the questions below. If you have a question, just ask. ;)

Blogwork

1) Have you ever eaten poppy seed?

2) Have you ever visited a monastery?

3) When was the last time you went on a guided tour?

Hi, Kip~

1) I have never eaten poppy seed. Is that delicious?

2) No, I haven't visited a monastery yet. That is like a big church, right?

3) In October, 2004. I went to London.

Hi Chicken,

1) Poppy seed is delicious on breads and desserts, but it can be found in many different sorts of food. The below link will take you to a few pictures of typical "Mohnspezialitäten" (= poppy seed specialties in German) in the Zwettl area.

2) Yes, monasteries are similar to big churches but different in the fact that monks normally live in them. Do you know what a monk is?

3) Oh, really? I've only been to London once, and I found it to be quite expensive. What did you think?

That is me in the picture. ;)

I will soon send out a notice about this weekend's SLEnglish Activities at Haven's Paradise. You should be able to find a landmark to the location by doing an in-world search for "Haven's Paradise". :)

Hi Kip,

I think I know what a monk is. I usually see them in my television. Monks don't have hair, and there are 9 points on their heads. And they are vegetarians.

The things in London were really expensive. A bottle of water cost me 1.5 pounds. That was about 21 yuan at that time! (Yuan is the unit of money in China, like pound, dollar...) And in China, a bottle of water is 1 yuan!!

P.S. Did you see my postcard and email? (1 postcard + 1 email) I was caught in a SIM crash when I sent that postcard, so I'm not sure if you received that...:-)

Hi Chicken!

Yes, I received your postcard despite the SIM crash. ;) Thanks!

X I usually see them in my television.
Better: on (my) television

Thank you for correcting my mistake, Kip~ I'm glad to hear that you received my postcard. I couldn't move my avatar, touch, sit or even teleport when I sent that postcard. :)
